Northwest Golf Guys - Premium Golf Course Ratings for Oregon and SW Washington

Lake Oswego Municipal Special

Hello Golf Guys and Gals! I recently stumbled upon a great promotion that I wanted to share with you. Starting January 2nd, Lake Oswego Munipal Golf Course is offering golf at $1 per degree above freezing at check in time! For example, if its 40 degrees at tee off, you would pay $8 to play 18 Holes of golf. Don't worry though, you will never pay more than the advertised rates, which are available here or at lakeoswegogolf.org. For those of you who have not played Lake Oswego, its a very entertaining Par 3 course. So put on your winters finest and get out to Lake Oswego Municipal!

Putting in a Winter Wonderland

NWGolfGuys own Nick Ralston managed to snap this photo of the 18th Green at RedTail Golf Course on his phone from the friendly confines of The Stockpot Broiler. If you click the picture you can enlarge it. If you have any pictures you would like to share of your local course covered in snow, please send them to feedback@nwgolfguys.com. Enjoy!

YouTube Video of the Week 12/8/08

We have all seen it, but its worth watching again and again!

Congratulations Michelle Wie

Michelle Wie earned her LPGA card today the hard way, by finishing in the Top 20 in Q School. With all she has been through, I am rooting for her to succeed, and hopefully her parents can stay out of her way. A friend of mine at Nike Golf has been telling me for a while now that she is in danger of being dropped from their roster because of her parents and thats unfortunate. Hopefully from here on out, she can focus on succeeding in the LPGA without the distractions of playing on the mens tour. While I'm all for her getting a chance to compete against the best golfers in the world, if she zeroes in on the LPGA, she has the talent to be the best womens player in the world. Remember, she is still only 19 years old, and most pro golfers haven't started their pro career at this point in their life. Good luck Michelle, and congratulations on a successful Q School.
