So obviously the TRUES feel good, and indeed they look good, but we needed to put them to the Northwest test to become TRUE believers in how they perform. After walking/carrying 18 holes of saturated, February fairways (including 14 holes of sustained rainfall), TRUE had set the curve for the exam.
The built-in tread on the TRUEs provide equivalent traction to traditional spiked soles, without the counteractive nuisance of collecting wet grass. They are as light weight as they come which helps preserve comfort all round long. But most importantly, by round's end, our feet were absolutely dry on a day in which our soaked, hat bills dripped rain onto the sponge-like ground. In a game of feel, that can make the difference between a strong or fizzling finish. And strong it would be, as Nick Ralston played to his 6 handicap despite the distraction of Sean Ferris' hole-in-one on #16.
TRUEs can be easily cleaned thanks to their smooth, simple surface. And by all means, clean them, as you will want to put them right back on to wear around the house.
