Dixon Golf's line of Earth Golf Balls are a new golf ball on the market, and a perfect ball for environmentally consciuos golfers. Dixon Golf Balls are 100% recyclable, from the ball to the packaging. They make three different balls, the Earth, a high performance golf ball; the Fire, a distance focused ball, and the upcoming Fire, their pro level golf ball. For the sake of this review, we will discuss Dixon's first golf ball, the Earth.
Dixon's Earth Golf Ball is a two-piece golf ball, and performs very well on the course. Most golfers can distinguish between a tour caliber golf ball and a cheap, low end golf ball. The Dixon Earth Golf Ball held its own in both power shots, as well as touch shots around and on the green. We noticed no discernable loss in distance using the Dixon Golf Ball versus other, more well known brands. Around the green, the Earth ball performs admirably, with a soft touch off the putter face and wedges.
What truly differentiates the line of Dixon Golf Balls is thier recycling program. We have all hit a shot that hit a tree or a cart path, and was scuffed to the point that you could not use it any more. Dixon Golf will give you a $1.00 credit towards a dozen golf balls for every Dixon ball you recycle, and a .50 cent credit for every non-Dixon Ball you bring in. One thing we noticed is that the ball does seem to be eaten up by wedges a bit easier than many golf balls, a fact that is sightly redeemed by the recycling program. However, I had to switch balls mid-round due to regular wear and tear, a trait that can be a bit tough to swallow considering it is priced in the same range as tour caliber golf balls. Regardless, Dixon has released a great product to the market, and with its green message, should be a hit in the Northwest.
